Winchester Green Party

Local Election 2011

If you think the Green Party is just an environmental organisation, think again. A single underlying philosophy does not make us a single issue party, and we tackle all the usual areas of policy – and means of paying for them – including economic policy, education, housing, health, transport, food and more. Find out more about us...

Winchester City Council election, 5th May 2011

The Green Party candidate in the St Bartholomew Ward was Alison Craig.

About Alison CraigAlision Craig

Alison was born and bred in the District (Twyford), and is a Winchester GP's daughter. She has been a longtime supporter of the Green Party, and was the Hampshire Regional Liaison Officer for Caroline Lucas, Leader of the Green Party, until Caroline's election to Parliament. Alison has worked in both local government and for environmental organisations, and is currently a manager within an international wildlife conservation charity.

She says:

'Hampshire is trailing behind with not one single Green councillor on any local authority here. Green councillors in Brighton, Norwich, Oxfordshire, and now Surrey are making a big difference to outcomes and we know that people want them here too.

The Coalition government's reckless cuts to public services are going to harm the poorest, youngest and most vulnerable people in our District. The Green Party is now unique in standing up consistently for decent public services and Winchester's environment.'

We want to see in the Winchester District:

If you want these changes too, vote for the Green Party!
